Christmas Gifts For The Organic Family
This week Kathryn is looking at green Christmas gifts. The sort of Xmas presents that families who care about the environment might choose …..
I really can't believe it's nearly Christmas again! Where does the time go? This time last year, our oldest daughter wasn't even pregnant. Now, after a traumatic premature labour back in early July, she's the happiest mum ever to 4 month old Dylan. And I am at last a Nan! Yay! Seeing him, only a few hours old, all wrapped up in his bamboo baby swaddle was without doubt one of the happiest and most memorable moments of my life.
So this is my first Christmas buying for a grandchild. To be honest it's pretty easy when you're buying for babies BUT it's easy to go for the simplest option and pick up some.kind of a cuddly toy. The thing is I know with Dylan that he has a zillion cuddlies already. It seems that every man and his dog bought presents for him when he was born. His grandma on the other side of the family is one of 7 and all of them bought Dylan a 'little something’!
Helena (Dylan's Mum and my daughter over at Helenas Blog is trying her hardest to be as green and organic as she can. She buys most of their toiletries from Weleda and is a great fan of the Weleda Calendula Baby range . I use their products too and adore the wild rose moisturizer. I noticed that they have a range of natural and organic Christmas gifts on their site right now and it's well worth a look.
The certified natural gifts on offer include a Lip Balm Trio, beautiful natural soaps and all manner of luxurious organic toiletries for all your friends and family.
Tilly and Jasper have some lovely Xmas PJs worth taking a peek at. They also have some gorgeous, colourful organic children’s leggings which I love to bits and they’re a pretty reasonable price too. The Frugi Blizzard Bobble Hat would make a great Christmas gift for any child. It’s made from a soft organic cotton knit in a fab multi-stripe design. I love that it’s made by hand in a GOTS certified organic factory so there’s no doubt of its provenance.
The Woodland Trust
The Woodland Trust website is a great place to look if you want to stand up for trees while you do your Christmas Shopping! Every single purchase made at The Woodland Trust shop funds their vital work to plant and protect trees across The UK.
Riverford is another fab site to get foodie gifts for Christmas .They have loads of organic Xmas gifts and you can even get a box of seasonal organic veg delivered for Christmas Dinner.
Honestly all you need to do is have a quick look online and you can easily find something for fans of all things organic. Merry Christmas!
